Expect to see warm reds like copper crop up all over. Whether it’s the copper of a 10-cent coin or a soft strawberry blonde, red and bronze will be the colours of choice this year.
To achieve the right shade it is important to bring visuals to your colorist.
Bring in pictures of two different reds—one you love, and another you absolutely don't like. Everyone has different lenses on and what is beautiful to one eye may not be to another. 

Pale strawberry works best over blonde hair or hair with existing red tones. Copper balayage is also set to be highly sought after. Copper and red tones require a bit of upkeep. When you're dark going to blonde, you're removing all color molecules from the hair. With red, you have brown molecules incorporated that tend to wash out faster, which is why there's more maintenance.

The trend is marked by the contrast of light and dark tones, offering plenty of dimension to hair. 
It can be created by working with the natural depth of the hair at the roots and breaking it up with sun-kissed highlights or balayage to create a low maintenance colour with a soft grow out.

Here are our recommendations for those looking for a new look.

#1 Pixie or Grown out pixie
So, you want a pixie cut but what kind of pixie cut is it you want? There are long pixies, short pixies, pixies with bangs , pixies without bangs, pixies with undercuts… the variations are almost endless!

If you’re used to just getting a couple of trims a year, you might be in for a bit of a shock when you first go short.
Pixie cuts require regular trims to keep their shape, so expect to see your stylist around every 6-8 weeks, depending on how long your cut is.

For a lot of people the allure of a pixie cut is how low-maintenance it is and in many ways, that’s true.
However, if you’re used to just leaving your hair down, without any product in and being able to head out the door, adjusting to styling short hair will be a different ballgame – but it doesn’t have to be difficult.

​#2 Lob (Long Bob)
Hankering for a shorter hairstyle, but don’t want a full-on, drastic bob or a pixie cut?
Well, you don’t have to, because there is a way you can have the best of both hair worlds, without having to sacrifice all of that beautiful length!

The long bob (AKA the lob) is the more subtle, stylish cousin of the classic bob, which strikes the perfect balance of length, versatility and all-round chic appeal.

A lob with blunt ends is ideal for reviving a fuller-looking hairstyle – especially if you’ve got thicker roots, but thinning tips.
Opting for a blunt cut lob will help to boost volume, while also promoting a chic and modern feel!

However, if your hair is naturally thick or coarse, you could also try adding texture from your mid-length onwards, to maintain a softer, more natural shape.

While we definitely love getting our creative juices pumping to work a new style, sometimes you just want to be able to get up and go with minimum effort.

Fortunately a lob is much easier to manage, since it doesn’t need the constant grooming of shorter pixies, and can easily be worn down without feeling too heavy. 

If you've been thinking about getting a lob, I would say go for it. The length is as close to universally flattering as a hairstyle gets.

#3 Long Layers with Face Framing
At its most basic, a layer is; hair that doesn’t reach the bottom of your hair. Sections of hair are held out and cut vertically from the head to reduce weight.
Layering hair not only removes weight but can also help to create shape, give volume, movement and texture.

​Before you get any haircut, you should evaluate what kind of hair you have and what it is you’re hoping to get out of it.

Do you want your hair to have more movement? Does your hair fall into your face like a lifeless curtain? Do you have curls and you don’t know how to tame them?

Most hair types can suit varying levels of layering, particularly thick heavy hair.
Hair that is very fine should avoid over layering as it can make it even finer and cause ‘wispiness and make the ends of the hair feel thinner.
Also very frizzy or coarse hair will generally benefit from having more weight.​
